Jones To Join

Subject to clearance, midfielder Ritchie Jones will join up in time to be in contention for our game against Torquay.

The 26 year old former Manchester United youth player joins us as a free agent after being released by Bradford in January. He has joined on non contract terms, and presumably if he does well, a deal will be struck sooner rather than later.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager said of the capture.

'He's got an abundance of ability and he's a naturally gifted player who waned to come here.'

Hill confirms that Jones had other options on the table for him but he believes this is the best place for him to re-ignite his career again and really kick on.

The manager goes on to say that Jones is a very versatile player who can effectively play anywhere in midfield, including in the centre which he prefers, but he will give us alternative options as we move forward.

The players history starts at United as a youth player where he was their captain, and also made five first team appearances during his spell with the club - so his pedigree, if he can find his form, is high.

He has had numerous loan spells during his career so far and did star for Bradford in their Capital One Cup penalty victory over Arsenal this season.

Here's hoping he really kicks on now!
