Hill Delighted With Pre Season Opener

Rochdale kicked off our pre season campaign with a 5-0 victory over Northwich Victoria, and Hill was pleased with what he saw.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game Hill said he was delighted with the 'brilliant' work out Northwich gave us, and more importantly the application the players showed throughout the game.

'There wasn't any 'what are we playing on this pitch for' sort of attitude, it was like we're here, we're going to take on the opposition, we're going to respect them but we're going to run them into the ground. Our pressing philosophy from back to front was incredible and we maintained it for a large period of the game, so I was really pleased with the progress that the players have made coming into that first game.'

Heading into the Halifax friendly on Saturday, Hill said he's looking for the team to continue that attitude and professionalism and meet the demands he's placing on them, cause even if they get beat, as long as they are sticking to the plan he'll still be relatively happy - whereas the players know if they don't meet his demands and win, he won't be happy.
