Molyneux Joins Up

Manager Keith Hill can be said to have got his man with the loan signing of Lee Molyneux from Crewe Alexandra.

The 24 year old has moved to Spotland until January 6th 2014 and he joins us from League One Crewe. The player knows the division well having played for Accrington Stanley last season - where he scored a brace against us on home soil.

Molyneux is a versatile player and he can play in a number of positions including wing and left back so he'll give Keith Hill additional options until the New Year.

Speaking to the Official Site following his capture, Hill explained that he had actually been after the player in the summer but lost out, so finding he was available for loan he wasn't going to not take the opportunity.

'I couldn't pass up the opportunity to recruit that type of player when I was made aware of his availability. I know how much he wants to come, so was a no brainer and I was chasing him in the summer.'

Hill says it better in some ways to bring players in when the team are doing well because ultimately it means they are coming in as an option regardless of the talent they have and they will have to prove themselves for the first team as opposed to coming in thinking they will play regardless and believing they are better than their new colleagues. There's certainly a degree of sense to that when it comes to the subconscious level.

In terms of the option he brings us, Hill says he's very technical but importantly he'll fit in functionally to the team whether that be on the left, the right, down the middle, a No 10 or even a left back, so for the manager he's basically secured five players for the price of one here which for him makes sense on every level.
