Henderson Delighted With Deal

Henderson Delighted With Deal

Having signed his 12 month extension, extending his stay at Rochdale until the summer of 2016, Ian Henderson has said he's delighted to have committed to the club for another year.

Shortly after signing the deal, the 29 year old said to the Official Site.

'It all came after the incredible promotion winning season that we had. I spoke to the manager and we agreed on a one year extension to my contract and I'm more than delighted to have signed it.'

Henderson says it did take a bit of time, but explained that this was mainly down to the excitement at the end of the season following on from promotion and then the fact that everybody departs for holidays, and this was literally the first chance he had to sign the paper work because he only arrived back in the country yesterday himself.

'I spoke with the manager and he asked me to come down to sign the contract and I'm so, so pleased to have signed it.'

He goes on to say that having been made to feel so welcome from the gaffer, other club staff, players and the reception he gets from the fans, he really does feel settled at the club and in the area, and the gaffer obviously was a big part in him signing for the extra year because he wants to keep playing his part in helping the club to kick on further.
