Andrew Signs Two Year Deal
Manager Keith Hill has added striker Calvin Andrew to our ranks ahead of the coming campaign.
The 27 year old has been training with the club for the past week and got a run out from the bench in the game against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, and the gaffer has been sufficiently impressed with him to offer a two year contract which was signed and sealed earlier today.
He joins us as a free agent having been released by York City over the summer.
Having started his career at Luton Town, he then spent four years with Crystal Palace before moving onto Port Vale and then Mansfield Town. Most recently he has obviously been with York.
Loan spells in his career have also seen him represent Bristol City, Bright and Millwall.
Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer said of the signing.
'I watched him play against us last season and I was impressed with his physical attributes - he was left footed with a good touch and had awareness of his team mates and the opposition. I'm really pleased that he has signed and I'm quietly excited about the prospects of working with him. The way we play football will suit him, there's no question about that.'
Andrew himself said following the formalities.
'I'm very happy to have signed and to be a part of a club going forward, and hopefully we can achieve great things together. I've been about a little bit in football and I haven't quite settled at a lot of places, but with the two year deal and the set of lads that are in there and the manager, I hope to cement something and find a home here.'
