Spencer is a young Keeper who arrived in time to join up with the team for our 2007/2008 Centenary Season.

Spencer had a mixed time at his former club, Stockport County. After breaking through to play against Watford as a 16 year old, in what we are now told to call the Championship, Spencer went on to clock up 110 appearances for The Hatters before catching the eye of Keith Hill when it became clear Matt Gilks was to leave.

Sadly Spencer's break through into the team coincided with County's slide down the divisions and many County fans believed this affected his confidence. He was, at one point, being watched by all manner of top clubs but as we know from experience this does not always equate to success. Certainly if you speak to County fans they don't seem overly impressed, infact they seem intent on him failing just so they can say "we told you so".

Spencer will be hoping to remain first choice Goalkeeper after he was forced down the pecking order at County but will face stiff competition from Sam Russell.
